WISCONSIN RECALL LAWSUIT

The Republicans in Wisconsin are going to file a lawsuit trying to stop the recall of slime-ball Governor Scott Walker.  They claim this recall is violating the Governors rights under the 14th amendment. This is the same group that has gone out of its way to circumvent rules in the legislature to pass their anti-labor laws.  This is the same group that is trying to make it harder to vote. This is the same group that has been against activist’s judges, now they want one to help them because they are running scared.  The will of the people be damned.  If they are so sure that they are right let the people decide.  They have all the money courtesy of the corporations and unlimited Pac money.  They shouldn’t be afraid should they?

IRAQ WAR IS OVER

The war in Iraq is officially over the flag was lowered for the last time today.   A war that I was against from the beginning and argued with so many people about the reasons for attacking Iraq.  I have never understood the reasons for going there and never will.  There were so many signs that the reasons for going there were wrong. Today there are several politicians that don’t want us to leave they would rather put more Americans at risk.  I personally think they are still trying to justify their votes for the war. I have two questions.  What did we gain by going there, and what did we lose by going there.  I am willing to bet the negatives out weight any gains.

NEWTSTER

Newt Gingrich the front-runner in the GOP race for President has taken a pledge supporting family values, and not to cheat on his current wife.  I don‘t care if this guy cheats on his wife, as long as he doesn’t tell me or anyone else how to lead their lives. Of course this is not the case with Mr. Gingrich.  He has all kinds of advice for just about everyone.  The thing is he has been a crook and a liar as long as he has been in public life. I can’t really understand why any Republican would want this guy President.  I hope they do nominate him, but it does put the people who vote for him in a bad light.  Either they are very gullible or just plain stupid.

BURN BABY BURN

This is stretch I know, but the comparison is something I couldn’t resist.  I assume everyone has heard of the fire department in Tennessee that was called to a house fire where they stood by and watched the house burn down.  The reason was that the people living there hadn’t paid the $75.00 fee.  Tennessee is a right to work state which means that if you work anywhere that has a union you don’t have to join, and pay dues.  The only thing that is different about the fee the fire department wants and the union dues you don’t have to pay is that the person who doesn’t pay the union dues still gets representation from the union no matter what.  I am willing to bet that the people who came up with the fee for the fire department  and stand by letting a house burn down would be all up in arms if the union didn’t represent the non-dues paying  person .

THE MUPPETS

Eric Bolling a goof from Fox News is upset because he thinks the new Muppets movie is teaching young children that being rich and owning a business is bad. He is so upset that they are teaching those young children. I wish he would have taken a stand when one of his colleagues Mike Huckabee came out with a set of history books geared to young children. These books slant everything to the right wing way of thinking, and they have the nerve to call them unbiased.  What a joke. Mr. Bolling is the same guy who said “America was certainly safe between 2000 and 2008. I don’t remember any attacks on American soil during that period of time.” I guess 9/11/2001 slipped his mind. Of course anything that happened under a Republican administration has to be forgotten, or maybe he has been reading Mike Huckabee’s books for children.

DANFORTH EMBARRASSED

John Danforth the former Republican Senator from Missouri recently stated that watching the GOP debates is ‘embarrassing’.  I wonder why, could it have to do with the incompetency of the candidates?  I would dare suggest that is so.  It also doesn’t help that the audiences for these debates cheer the stupidest things. Let’s take a look at some of the goings on.  Herman Cain.  Not ready for prime time.  Doesn’t have a clue about anything. That also goes for Perry, Bachmann, and the rest.  Perry I am quite sure is not even sure where he is most of the time.  Bachmann gets the facts wrongs so often and then has the nerve to say she has never misstated anything.  Romney doesn’t even have a position on anything for more than one day.  Gringrich, I really think this guy is a big scam artist, trying to line his own pockets. He also changes his positions to suit the situation.  As for the audiences of these debates, they cheer death. They cheer letting people die without insurance. Senator Danforth should be embarrassed; if I was a Republican I would be embarrassed too.

VOTER SUPPRESSION

As I stated in my last post Plutomony one of the things worrying the rich is the fact we still have one person one vote in this country, The Republicans are going all out trying to suppress and make it harder to vote. Of course they only are going after the voters that don’t vote for them. At least one of them has the guts or stupidity to state the truth.  New Hampshire Speaker William O’Brien (R) said recently that allowing people to register and vote on Election Day led to “the kids coming out of the schools and basically doing what I did when I was a kid, which is voting as a liberal. That’s what kids do — they don’t have life experience, and they just vote their feelings.” The truth is that he wants to protect industry and the rich at the expense of the people who need help or just a fair shake in this country.  BTW the term liberal is something to be proud of; it means you care about people and this country.  Republicans of today are only interested in lining their own pockets and the people who line them.

PLUTOMONY

This is excerpts of a memo that was written by Citigroup a few years ago. This is the same Citigroup that was recently bailed out to the tune of 45 billion dollars by the Government.
The memo was entitled Plutomony which is really a made up word that means that the majority of the wealth is controlled by an ever-shrinking minority; as such the economic growth of that society becomes dependent on the fortunes of that same wealthy minority.

Here are some of the following excerpts.
`If we are right, that the rich are going to keep getting richer over the coming years Despite being in great shape, we think that global capitalists are going to be getting an even greater share of the wealth pie over the next few years, as capitalists benefit disproportionately from globalization and the productivity boom, at the relative expense of labor. For the poorest in society, high gas and petrol prices are a problem. But while they are many in number, they are few in spending power, and their economic influence is just not important enough to offset the economic confidence, well-being and spending of the rich. We expect the global pool of labor in developing economies to keep wage inflation in check, and profit margins rising – good for the wealth of capitalists, relatively bad for developed market unskilled/outsource-able labor. This bodes well for companies selling to or servicing the rich.

Our whole plutonomy thesis is based on the idea that the rich will keep getting richer. This thesis is not without its risks. For example, a policy error leading to asset deflation, would likely damage plutonomy. Furthermore, the rising wealth gap between the rich and poor will
probably at some point lead to a political backlash. Whilst the rich are getting a greater share of the wealth, and the poor a lesser share, political enfranchisement remains as was – one person, one vote. At some point it is likely that labor will fight back against the rising profit share of the rich and there will be a political backlash against the rising wealth of the rich. This could be felt through higher taxation (on the rich or indirectly though higher corporate taxes/regulation) or through trying to protect indigenous laborers, in a push-back on globalization – either anti-immigration, or protectionism. We don’t see this happening yet, though there are signs of rising political tensions.

As many of you know that there has been a coordinated attack in several states attacking labor and trying to make voting more difficult. As you can see by reading this memo that’s the two things that the wealthy are worried about. Unlike most of us they are not standing by and doing nothing, they are attacking us. If you want your life or your children’s lives to be of a higher quality and more fulfilling than yours maybe you should stop standing around doing nothing and take action.

RECALL PETITION

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I had the opportunity to sign the recall petition to get rid of Scott Walker the anti-labor, anti-environment, and anti-education Governor of Wisconsin.  I have stated in the past that the GOP does not care one bit about this country other than what they can use and throw away to serve their own interests. Walker kowtows to any business group and will do anything for them regardless of how is hurts the people of his state. As of today the recall group claims to have at least 300,000 signatures. They need at least 700,000 in my opinion to get the required 540,000.  If you live in Wisconsin and haven’t signed the petition, what are you waiting for?

NOT HIRING

A business owner in western Georgia instituted a new company policy recently: “We are not hiring until Obama is gone.” Bill Looman owner of U.S. Cranes LLC is putting signs on all his trucks stating he isn’t hiring until Obama is gone.  This is his right, but this clown is nuts and thinks Obama is the cause of everything that is wrong in his life. His Facebook page has anti-Muslim and pro confederacy sayings on it; he buys into every nutty conspiracy theory about Obama. He claims he needs to hire people but he won’t because of President Obama’s policies.  This guy is a moron for the simple reason small businesses are eligible for all kinds of tax breaks if they hire.  He is just another one of these people who take no responsibility but blame everything on someone else.

THE MORON SQUAD

The GOP moron squad is at work again.  Rick Perry the great conservative dope, oh sorry, I meant hope who is sinking faster than the setting sun has put out a couple of brilliant statements.  He wants to debate Nancy Pelosi the minority leader in the House of Representatives.  I didn’t know she was running for the GOP’s Presidential nomination.  He also said President Obama’s life has been too easy.  What that has to do with anything even if it was true.  Your guess is as good as mine.

Herman Cain another one of the stooges, I would have said 3 stooges, but there seems to be more than that in the GOP at this moment.  Mr. Cain says so many stupid things it’s hard to pick one.  I will just say this man shouldn’t be involved in politics.  The man is politically stupid.  He tries to spin this as an asset. Like what this country needs is a person running it who absolutely knows nothing.

Newt Gingrich the one time darling and now again sweetheart of the GOP said he was paid about $1,800,000 dollars because he offered a historical perspective to Fannie Mae.  If Republicans buy this there really is no hope for those people. How anyone could believe that a financial institution would pay someone with no special insight other than that he could lobby his Republican colleagues is beyond me. As most people know Newt speaks out of both sides of his mouth all the time.  Newt said the individual mandate concerning health care reform is fundamentally wrong and unconstitutional.  His own center for health transformation states a mandate is a key element of reform for health care.  He thinks he can say and do anything and the people of his own party are stupid enough to fall for it.

RECALL WALKER

The recall petition for Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin started today.  I am looking forward to signing that petition this weekend. Walker must be worried because last night during the Green bay Packers football game he ran ads touting his administration and asking the public not to sign the petition.   The apologists for the Governor have been saying he is the best thing that has happened to the state.  They offer no proof.  Anyone who has been paying attention knows there is a coordinated effort between the Republicans to take away labors rights and suppress voters in the upcoming elections.  Some of these things have failed in Ohio, and now it’s time to get Walker out of office and take back our state.

JIM DEMINT

To all Americans who have fought for the last ten years in Iraq and Afghanistan the Government is trying to help you get jobs in today’s tough economic times.  They are offering tax credits to businesses to hire a veteran.  One so called American is Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina voted against it because he doesn’t think anyone should be favored over another person in getting a job.  The problem with this idiot’s logic is that these Americans have served this country in a time of war.  They did not have the opportunities that other people have had to get good jobs.  They put the country first, and their own lives second.  They are true Americans unlike this clown who thinks his own personal ideology should take precedence over these men and women who risked their lives for him.  One of the greatest programs this country   has ever had is the GI bill enacted after World War 11.  This is a program that made this country so much better.   I don’t know if Senator DeMint has served in the Armed Forces, I truly doubt it.  If he had I don’t think he would talk so stupid. I think it is time for the people of South Carolina to get rid of this idiot.

VICTORY?

Finally!  Labor has finally stopped the union hating or should I say workers in general haters the totally own by the Koch brothers GOP.  The Governor of Ohio’s anti-labor law went down to defeat last night by a comfortable margin.  Hopefully this will help the people in Wisconsin who are going to try and recall their slime ball Governor Scott Walker.  My hope is that the people will see that it’s possible. Going back to Ohio’s successful defeat of a bill is a very good system.  This is what Government of the people by the people means.  Every state should have a law like this so when a legislature and a Governor do things that the people don’t want they have an option to stop it.  Labor and everyone who is being affected by these totally unethical slime balls should double down and make sure they get out and vote in any election instead of sitting back and thinking that all politicians are the same.  They aren’t and they found out the hard way.

REPUBLICAN VALUES?

Now that a real person has come forward to accuse Herman Cain of sexual harassment I am going to be really interested if the Republican primary voters are still going to stick with him.  Republicans in general have a hard time with their morals and ethics. They profess one thing and do another.  Take for example all the Republicans who preach marital values then get caught cheating, or the Republicans  who are always preaching against the gay lifestyle, and then you come to find that they are involved with male prostitutes or  are caught soliciting  sex in restrooms.   I know what the Republicans will say. Democrats do the same thing.  That’s true.  The difference is that Democrats don’t tell you how to lead your life.  That has always been my problem with family values Republicans or anything of the sort.  Everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone tells you how to lead your life while doing everything they tell you not to do.  To my point is the new law in Michigan ostensibly an anti-bullying law.  The only problem is the Republicans managed to put in a line where it makes it okay to bully if it’s based on your religious beliefs. As I have been saying for a long time Republicans in general have major ethical problems and really don’t care about people.  Their whole being is involved in protecting the businesses and the rich.

JOE WALSH

Joe Walsh the Republican congressman from Illinois was recently named a "True Blue" member of Congress for his "unwavering commitment and consistent support in defense of life and the family." This honor was bestowed on the esteemed congressman by the Family Research Council.  The only problem with this award to this scumbag is that he allegedly owes his ex-wife and 3 children $117,000 dollars in back child support.  Of course this dirt bag has an explanation for that. He really has paid up, but he has no proof. Or the other explanation is that his wife agreed that he didn’t have to pay. “Walsh also rejected the congressional health insurance plan for his family on principle, much to the chagrin of his current wife, Helene, who had a preexisting condition and needed surgery while the couple was uninsured.”  So much for family values.

This award and the guy they gave it to shows how these right wing goofs think. Do anything you want it doesn’t really matter as long as you vote the right way as to their way of thinking.  Basically what you have in Joe Walsh is a street whore who sells himself to the highest bidder.

JOHN MCCAIN

John McCain former Presidential Candidate and current Republican Senator from Arizona was on a radio sports talk show this morning.  He was there to talk about human growth hormone use in the National Football League.  In the conversation the host Dan Patrick asked him if he had a do over to pick a Vice Presidential running mate would he?  For those who don’t know he chose Sarah Palin.  He basically said no, he thought she did a good job.  He then went on to say he was so proud of running for President and being 5th from the bottom in his class at the Naval Academy.  This is the way the Republicans think now.  They want to celebrate mediocrity and down play intelligence.  Finally he said it’s hard doing God’s work in the city of Satan.  I don’t know if he was joking or not, but these guys are nuts.

THE GOP IN TURMOIL

Over the past few days there has been several things going on with the GOP.  Rick Perry gave a very strange speech the other day kind of rambling and goofy.  I guess by his standards that would be a normal speech since he is goofy to begin with.

Herman Cain the non-candidate candidate got himself caught up in a sexual harassment conversation concerning his time at The National Restaurant Association. First he said it was nothing and he didn’t know anything about what happened because he recused himself.  A couple hours later he acknowledged that he knew there was a payoff to keep the women quiet. The money for a non-disclosure agreement seems like a fair deal if you are guilty.

Mitt Romney has been implicated in the Stanford Financial Group Ponzi scheme. I have no idea if this is true. A web site with ties to the scheme has mysteriously deleted any people with ties to Romney including his son.

Michelle Bachmann.  Forget it she really doesn’t matter and has never said anything worth wild.  I guess I have to put the rest of the bunch into that category. Who cares?

GOP DEBATES

Rick Perry the one time front runner for the Republican nomination for President has fallen way down in the polls.  His take on the reason for that is that he hasn’t done very well in the debates. This is one of the few things this guy has been right about, but compared to the other mental midgets running he isn’t that much worse.  His solution to this is that he is thinking about not participating in future debates. This is a guy who wants to be the leader of the free world, and he is afraid to participate in debates.  How does he expect to lead the world?  This should be a big red flag for anyone even thinking of voting for this not ready for prime time player.

As I’m writing this I realize maybe we should thank Rick Perry for boycotting the debates, now if we could get the rest of the mental midgets to do the same it would be so nice. They haven’t had a coherent thought between them since these debates started.

STUPID THINGS

It had been my hope to ignore these so called Presidential want a be’s for a while.  Rick Perry the lone star cowboy who is flat out an idiot had proposed a 20 % flat tax.  He can propose all the stupid things he wants.  The problem when confronted with the fact that it would cost low and middle class people more money, he answered.  “I don’t care about that”  These people that want to be President don’t seem  to understand that they are supposed to  be President to all the people, not just the select few who give him money.

Mitch McConnell who is not running for President, but is the minority leader in the Senate, said the other day it’s not his responsibility to prevent layoffs of firemen  and first responders by raising taxes on businesses.  This moron and he really is a moron doesn’t understand when those businesses start on fire the fireman he didn’t want retained will not be there to put out the fire. This is the guy who said the number 1 job of the GOP is to make President Obama a 1 term President.  The people and country be damned.

Finally I have to mention Michelle Bachmann, she really is a footnote to the campaign now, but that doesn’t mean she can still say stupid things.  There are so many lately, but she suggested if the people who don’t have insurance get sick they will have to rely on charity to have their bills paid, all 50,000,000 of them.

ANOTHER LIE FROM MARCO RUBIO

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL.) has always claimed his parents came to this country in 1959 fleeing from Cuba and Fidel Castro.  Guess what?  Mr. Rubio has a strange take on his family history, and my guess it was for political reasons.  His parents actually came to the United States in 1956 which is before Castro.  He is trying to justify his lie now by saying well   you know they actually tried to move back to Cuba in 1959 so he really is right about them fleeing Castro in 1959. These kind of guys lie all the time and think nothing of it. When they are found out they just assume they can keep their followers in line, and surprising enough a lot of this guy’s followers will probably say, oh, it’s okay Marco, it doesn’t matter that you are a liar and will do anything to further your political career.

COMIC A DAY

A friend of mine who I have worked with the last few years has been working on a comic that he is putting on the internet.  He has worked consistently writing a story line and creating characters.  I wasn’t sure if he would ever get this off the ground, but he has.  The problem he will face is getting people to know it’s out there.  There is a link in my good sites spot on this blog. I would like it if you are into comics in any way to take a look,  and let him know what you think.  Comic a day is the name of this futuristic adventure.

GOD TOLD ME TO DO IT

Anita Perry the wife of Presidential hopeful Rick Perry said recently that her husband got a sign from God to run for President.  Michelle Bachmann also was told by God to run for President.  I am not sure if any of the other stooges running for President on the GOP side have gotten a sign.  My question is, why is Bachmann a joke in this campaign and why does Mrs. Perry claim that her husband is being brutalized by the other candidates and the press?  If God told her husband to run, wouldn’t you think that all of the things that are happening are pre-ordained?  I guess when it comes to God you only see God’s hand in the good, so I guess it must be the devil controlling everything negative, instead of her husband’s goofy ideas, and poor debates.  Now being a woman of God, shouldn’t she know what was coming and be ready for it? Also, Mrs.’ Perry is blaming President Obama for her son losing his job.  I wondered how that could be.  This is kind of hard to follow, but she says because of election laws her son can’t keep his job and still campaign for his father.  The kid quit his job voluntarily, so don’t blame anyone but himself.

WALL STREET PROTESTS

No matter what you think about the Occupy Wall Street protests going on around the county.  I would like to point out the hypocrisy of the right-wing loons. Several of them have said interesting things.
Karl Rove the GOP banker.  Occupy Wall Street is   “Left wing nuts whose goal it is to violate the law”

This is a man who worked in the George W. Bush White House.  I am pretty sure he is very adept at breaking laws.
Eric Cantor (R-VA.)  Said the movement is a “mob dividing Americans against Americans”
This is all this guy does is try and divide Americans of course he is on the side of the corporations, and he was all for the Tea Party Movement.  He thought they were great.

Peter King (R-NY.) Do not allow any legitimacy for Wall Street protests, or it will be like the 1960’s again.  They have no sense of purpose other than a basically Anti-American tone.
The 1960’s protests were against war, and for civil rights I guess this goof doesn’t think these were good things.
Chris Wallace of Fox News said they are getting more coverage than they deserve.
The Tea Party protests were hyped by him at every opportunity.  Of course he works for Fox, and these protests are against everything this phony news organization believes in.
Glenn Beck said they are Marxist Radicals and they will kill everybody
Okay I know Beck is just plain nuts.
There are plenty more of these nuts. But my goal is to point out the hypocrisy of these people.

DWARF TOSSING

Rep. Ritch Workman (R) a state legislator in Florida is trying to repeal a longstanding ban on "dwarf-tossing" Now why would anyone want to say something or do something so stupid.   His explanation is first that the government shouldn’t be making unnecessary rules to protect people , plus the dwarfs need the jobs,  you know if  people want to watch people being abused and exploited it should  be nobody else’s business.  The Little People of America have denounced this practice in the past.  I think my response to this idiocy would be to have a practice where stupid Republican legislators and there are so many, have to be in a dunking tub dressed in a clown suit so other people can abuse them. Hopefully a lot of them will be out of a job next year.

STEVE KING MORON

Rep. Steve King (R.IA) who I think is completely and totally crazy has outdone himself.  He wants to go back to the good old days when only property owners could vote. How this idiot gets re-elected to Congress is beyond my understanding.  His stance on voting leaves out women, minorities, who in the good old days were slaves, it leaves out anyone by definition who didn’t own property.  This is the mentality of the slave owners.  I know what is best for you and we will take care of you because you are not smart enough to know anything. He basis his logic on the fact if you don’t have property you have no stake in the country other than voting for things that you can get for nothing.  The people in Iowa have to wake up and get rid of this obnoxious jerk.

VOTER SURPRESSION

Republican Secretary of State, Scott Gessler of Colorado has decided that if you’re serving your country in a war and you didn’t vote in 2010, you are not eligible to vote this year in Colorado.  These are the kind of people who have no business being in politics.  They are supposed to be serving the people that elected them not trying to disenfranchise them.  I have talked about this many time, these people serve party instead of country.  These are the people who booed the gay soldier at the GOP debate. Not one of the people that want to be President stood up and said that was wrong during that debate.  They seem to want to ignore the people they don’t agree with.  The problem is if you want to President you are President of the whole entire nation not just a little sliver of bigots and greedy corporations.

THE BULLY

I read an article where the Senator from New Jersey Frank Lautenburg called the Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie abusive to women and a bully.  Finally!  I have felt that way since the first time I heard this jerk talk to women.  He has the power of the office behind him, and when he doesn’t like a question he shoots his mouth off knowing full well that the person he is attempting to bully can’t do anything about it. More often than not the person he is rude to is a woman.  I see these kinds of guys quite often.  In fact there is a guy like that where I work. He shows up very seldom, but he comes in with this arrogant attitude, and says stupid things.  He knows full well no one can do anything about it. You don’t get respect, and you don’t deserve respect by acting like you’re the greatest thing since sliced bread.  These guys, and I am sure there are women like that who let a little power go to their head

HERMAN CAIN

Now that Rick Perry is self-destructing, and Chris Christie has said again that he doesn’t want to run for President, the new darling for the right wing at the moment is Herman Cain.  I heard a Republican strategist say how great this county is because we could have a black man running against another black man for President.  I am willing to bet any amount of money that Herman Cain will not be the Republican nominee for President.  The Republicans in general will not allow this to happen. The hatred for President Obama is so intense amongst these people they will not want to replace him with another black man.  Herman Cain can say all the right things and do all the right things, but take my word for it, it won’t happen.

RESPECT OR LACK THERE OF

When I go on vacation I usually try and not watch or read the news.  So to my surprise I come back and I see the right wing Republicans are starting to attack Rick Perry.  I understand the man is a moron, but for the right wing loony’s to catch on so fast is amazing.  I might not have been giving them the proper respect, but then again they still have all those other goofs running for office and no one seems to notice.  I read a blog post from women who I have had a feud with in the past.  She was a big Michelle Bachmann fan.  She has come to the realization that maybe she was wrong about her, she isn’t sure about Perry, but she sort of likes Rick Santorum.  I guess that shoots my idea of not giving the right wing loony’s enough respect all to hell.  Honestly I cannot understand these people at all, and I hope I never do.

PAT ROBERTSON

Pat Robertson the onetime Presidential candidate and a self-proclaimed man of God said that it is okay to divorce your spouse if she has Alzheimer’s disease.  Commenting on the till death do you part he said Alzheimer’s is sort of like death therefore it makes it okay to desert your spouse.  I guess maybe he was thinking of Newt Gingrich who divorced his wife on her death bed.  Now the problem comes in when people might decide it is okay to divorce because their spouse has become paralyzed or bed ridden with things like ALS.  I guess the theory goes that a disabled spouse isn’t worth their time so just move on.  The real sad part is this man is supposed to be religious, but the bible he reads from must have a different meaning when it comes to compassion love and loyalty.

CHEERING DEATH

The audience cheered when at the GOP Presidential debate the hypothetical question about a man with no insurance being left to die.  These are the same people who cheered about the executions in Texas.  These people are sick.  No matter your take on the death penalty or anything else for that matter, to cheer is just plain sick.  This is the Tea Party, or if you like the Koch brothers at work.  For a politician to pander to these people, and the Republicans do, tells you a lot about the difference in the parties.  If they are willing to cheer for that, what do you think they think about the rest of us?  By the rest of us I mean the people who disagree with them.  I hate the analogy about Nazi Germany, but when you have people cheering death, and seeing nothing wrong with it as long as it’s the other person, comparisons are hard not to do.

JOBS BILL

President Obama’s jobs bill is going to Congress soon.  The Republicans seem to have a different take on this as they do with everything President Obama sends them.  Eric Cantor (R-OH.) voted for spending money in Iraq to rebuild their infrastructure, but he says he won’t vote for rebuilding ours.  I am beginning to believe that Cantor is anti-American. He is just pro Republican.   A Republican aide said why should we vote for a jobs bill.  It’s not good for our politics. Again they put party before the country. Rick Scott the Republican governor of Florida is already suggesting that he won’t take the money for his state.  His state by the way has an unemployment rate higher than the national average.  I am sure the people of Florida were happy to hear that.  Obama has to start going to these bozos districts and or states and point out the things that would be accomplished through this bill.  Mitch McConnell the Republican leader in the senate is a great example where Obama should go, one of the major bridges in his state has had to be closed, and Mr. McConnell should be made an example of letting his state down.

RICK PERRY AND DEATH

Rick Perry’s smugness when answering the question about whether he lost any sleep over the executions he has authorized shows me this man is not fit to be President or even dog catcher. Any rational person would or should agonize a little that he possibly put an innocent person to death. People like him and the people who applaud him never take into consideration that maybe one of those people might be one of their relatives.  There are so many of the so-called guilty that have been proven innocent in the last few years.  How can you be so smug and say all of those people were definitely guilty.  I for one am not completely against the death penalty.  Still if I was the Governor of any state I would want to make sure as much as possible that there was no question about the person’s guilt.  Anyone that has been involved with or taken part in any criminal trials should know there is so much that is not exactly on the up and up.  All prosecutors are not honest they have the win at all costs mentality.  Many of the so-called experts will say anything to make a buck, and some of them have been found to be fabricating evidence even in death penalty cases. Eye-witness evidence is proven not to be all that reliable.  Rick Perry and people who have the power should agonize a little; it shouldn’t be easy to put someone to death.

CRACKPOTS

All you have to do is listen to the Republicans talk or watch what they do or don’t do.  I know there must be responsible Republicans, but they are becoming rarer and rarer.  If you listen to their debates or just watch their actions you have to come to the realization these people are intent on bring down the United States as we know it.  They block everything in congress; they don’t want to attend the President’s speech tonight.  You have most of the candidates trying to do away with almost all Government programs.  They see no need for them.  They do have one thing in common.  Let’s give all the money to businesses while at the same time doing away with all regulations that keep them somewhat under control.  They don’t believe in science. They sure as hell don’t care anything about the people in this country that aren’t rich.  You have the goof from Texas bragging about all the people he has put to death.  Doesn’t bother him if he has put an innocent man to death.  So much for God fearing as he claims to be. They want to do away with the department of education.  Why?  Well let’s see that means they can press their religious agenda, the hell with the Constitution.  Republicans in general want to do away with the things that make the life of middle class people in this country tolerable.  Why shouldn’t they in their minds they don’t use the public schools, they only eat the best food, they drink only bottled water. Facts to these people do not matter. In their minds if something doesn’t agree with their warped sense of reality it can’t be true.  All you have to do is watch Fox to prove me out. Hopefully the people are going to stand up for themselves come election time and kick these bozos out of office before it is too late.

ARE UNIONS EVIL

This was a headline in the Duluth News Tribune.

This was my response.
Are unions evil was a recent headline in your newspaper.  First, there was no need for that kind of pejorative headline.   The man you had argue that unions were evil was sadly misinformed.  He used terms like “infiltrate and termites” to characterize unions.  This is a childish way to denigrate unions.  He pays the obligatory compliment to unions. “When unions were first created there was a need for them.”  What’s changed to make them unneeded?  We have managers and supervisors who try and bully and intimate employees today, and terminate employees on species charges.  In fact most of his argument makes the case for unions.  In his opinion, He states unions are the no. 1 reason companies have gone overseas.  The reason companies go overseas is so they can exploit workers where there are no unions to protect them.  Why do you think that pro-business politicians are trying to do away with OSHA AND NLRB or rescind minimum wage laws? In fact there are politicians and businesses trying to do away with child labor laws.  Mr. Jamail I’m sure would try and spin these things as trying to help businesses.

His other premise is that unions protect bad employees.  All unions do is to make sure that there is due process.  He suggested union employees are lazy and non-productive. I would have liked to have proof of that statement. Lastly this old argument that unions thrive on conflict or want companies to fail is possibly one of the more stupid things that I have heard.  Most union decisions are local and voted on by the membership. One of several things Mr. Jamail doesn’t understand is that the job is our livelihood. We have just as much desire to have a safe and profitable place to work as the company.

UNION APPROVAL

The headline said “Labor Unions, Benefits understood have almost never been less popular.   Then we find out from the story that 52% of Americans support them. We do find Republicans support is only at 26% a drop from 51%.  After a decade of orchestrated attacks on unions, 52% seems quite good.

Congressional support is at 13% and 7 of the last 12 Presidents had or has a job approval rating less that 50%.  The Tea Party’s approval rating is 25%.  What we hear all the time from the media is that the Tea Party’s support is so powerful.  To my eye that doesn’t seem true.  The media likes to down play union support, but play up the Tea Party.  The man who wrote this article seems to have fallen into that trap.

MESSAGES FROM THE GOP

Michelle Bachmann suggests the recent earthquake and hurricane are a message from God.  To warn politicians to start heeding divine guidance.

Pat Robertson said the crack in the Washington monument is a sign from God, and the recent earthquake signals the coming of Christ.

Glenn Beck said the hurricane and earthquake were a warning to the American people.   I have to wonder why God chooses these people to talk to.

Eric Cantor again states no disaster relief unless it can be taken from some other program. This belief must be taken from a different religion, one that states to hell with the people, suffering is no big deal.

Rick Santorum accuses his critics as having “gone out on a Jihad” against him for his anti-gay stance.

Rick Perry called Social Security “a crumbing monument to the failure of the New Deal” and he compared the program to a bad disease.

My favorite is Mitt Romney’s “corporations are people my friend”

With people like these in our country, why do we need enemies from outside?

MARCO RUBIO

I have heard the dumbest thing I think I have ever heard.  Marco Rubio (R-FL.) said programs like Social Security and Medicare weaken us as a nation because people don’t have to worry about the future so they don’t save because that is the government’s job. If this idiot has ever worked for a living he would know that people are working all the hours they can to make ends meet.  All the while they are paying into Social Security and Medicare.  In my entire life I have never heard anyone say they didn’t have to work or work hard because they had the government to take care of them.  He thinks that society in general will take care of the needy and sickly.  I would ask this goof if he is going to pay for my heart transplant or pay for my cancer treatment.  I don’t think that is going to happen is it.  Social Security is not the gold at the end of the rainbow.  It just helps in your retirement.  Of course Republicans like him think that all employers should pay very little and offer no benefits. Then we could go back to the time before these programs when the life expectancy was about 60yrs.  Then we wouldn’t really have much of a need for these programs would we?  Of course this guy is living off the government dime.

STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES

Rick Perry like John Kyl before him is now saying his book isn’t really meant to be factual.  The difference is when Mr. Perry is confronted about some issue he spits out  the phrase get a copy of my book and read it.  This is hypocrisy of the first degree. I am not sure if he thinks his supports are that stupid or he is that stupid. I would like to think he is that stupid.  From what I have seen and heard of him I think the latter is correct. On the other hand so many of the Republican contenders say so many stupid things and go merrily on their way.  I wish their followers would at least hold them to some sort of standard.  You have Romney attacking President Obama for health care reform, even after he did the same thing before him.  Bachmann is always criticizing government programs why she has benefited greatly from several. It almost feels sometimes that the goofier they are the more their followers like them. If you are running for President at least have some credibility and hopefully for all of us have the best interest of the country first.

WORKERS AND UNIONS

As the standard of living of the middle-class in the United States is falling, so is union membership.  There is a correlation between the two.  Unions made the middle class and you can be thankful that they did.  Most of us would not be living as well as we are if it wasn’t for the unions. Even non-union labor has benefited from unions.  Now unions are being demonized by the powerful in this country. They say that unions are the cause of all the troubles in this country at the moment. They have no problem with corporations that are sending jobs overseas,  or corporations that pay no income tax, or these same corporations that are sitting on billions of dollars rather than investing them at a time when this country needs all the jobs it can get.  Is this patriotism or is it greed, or maybe it is just political.  They would rather hurt this country than giving a helping hand to the current President. The time comes when you have to stand up and be counted. It is time to fight back.  Become more active in politics. Don’t take their word for anything. You can check out things so easily now.  When these politicians are coming after things that you have been paying into for your entire working life you know that isn’t right.  If you are young and think social security won’t be there for you, you have been brainwashed by the people who say that social security is doomed.  These very same politicians have been using the money from the social security trust for years.  Now they want to say oops sorry.  Medicare is a great thing, it has been demonized since its inception in the 1960’s all those terrible things that were going to happen never did. But that doesn’t stop them.  The politicians and the corporations that own them have an agenda.  Weaken workers by attacking unions, take away the safety net for people, and deregulate everything.  Let the environment go back to the way it was. You don’t have to go back that far and see the quality of some rivers and air in this country. Some rivers were completely dead.  Now they are almost back to their natural state.  Why would corporations be against keeping the environment clean?  They want to pollute because it is easier and cheaper. Greed!  Why keep out unions?  That is easy. They want to go back to the days when they had complete control over your life.  They had people living in their houses, buying from their stores.  The people were completely dependent on the companies.  If you think it can’t go back to them days, you are wrong. The time will come when you will have no choice. Thousands of people fought for unions, and many died to get them. This is not the time to go back a hundred years and repeat the process.

YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY

Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI.)   Is thinking of charging people to attend his town hall meetings.  These kinds of guys have no business being in politics.  They don’t want to be asked questions they don’t like. They only want soft-ball questions.  Ryan had to call the police because some unemployed constituents were in his office and wanted to ask him some questions.  He of course didn’t answer any.  This is the reason to charge people; they have no jobs so I guess that means they don’t have the money to attend one of his town hall meetings.  Why should anyone be surprised by this.  This is the guy who wants to do away with Social Security and Medicare.  The working people of this country are just a nuisance to these clowns.  You know the people who actually want to make a livable wage and provide for their children.  If that happens how those struggling could corporations survive?

HAND WRITING ON THE WALL

The Oho legislature and Governor Kasich passed an anti-union bill earlier this year.  The people are scheduled to vote later this year if that bill will take effect.  Governor Kasich and his cronies have seen the hand writing on the wall, and have offered to compromise on the bill.  It’s too late.  Kasich knows this bill is going down to defeat, and he is trying to save face.  I hope the people of Ohio don’t succumb to any of his schemes.  These goofy Republicans who got themselves elected last year and have tried to screw the working people of this country are starting to realize that it won’t be as easy as they thought.  There is a lot of work to do yet, but we are on the right track.

JIM THOME

Jim Thome hit his 600th homerun yesterday.  It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.  I have heard some people question his chances of getting into the hall of fame.  These people are idiots.  Of course most sports writers and sports pundits are.  If Thome was a Yankee or a Brave there wouldn’t even be a question of his getting in.  They would be falling all over themselves praising him.  We will have to wait at least 5 years to find out, but my guess he will get in on the first ballot.  I know most baseball records in the last few years have come under scrutiny because of steroids, but Thome has never been mentioned.  Nice guys do finish first sometimes.

RICK AND MICHELLE

Now that Rick Perry is officially running for President, my wish may be coming true.  I have hoped that Perry and Bachmann would team up as the GOP’s candidates for President and Vice-President.  If these two clowns actually win a state I would be amazed.  Since I can’t predict the future though who knows this might be the two who capture the Presidency.   If this happens I think I will lose all hope for the future of this country.  If this country gets fooled by this two, or think they actually make sense then there is no hope.  The sad thing is how can we be fooled by another clown from Texas.  We only just barely survived the last wanna-be cowboy.  Perry’s lack of intelligence makes George W. Bush seem like a genius. Bachmann has actually accomplished nothing in her time in Congress, other than getting her face out there for some of the most stupid comments of all time. The choice will be stark and easy to make in my opinion.

LABORS TIME TO ROAR

Next week August 9th Wisconsin has 6 recall elections.  It’s time to see if the outrage that was manifest earlier this year at Governor Walker and his minions in the legislature is still percolating or people have just accepted  being gouged by the Republicans.  My hope is that all six of the Republicans go down in defeat, but I think that is just wishful thinking on my part.  In Ohio this fall, they have on the ballot the attempt to do away with Governor Kasich’s attack on labor. I think I like this approach more than Wisconsin’s for the simple reason if  labor wins in Ohio the bill doesn’t take effect. In Wisconsin the law will be the same, but at least it will stop any more attacks by the Republicans for the time being. My other hope is if these things turn the way I want, maybe the national Democrats will grow a set, and get out there and fight for the working people instead of caving at every turn.

RACISIM

Congressman Doug Lamborn(R-CO.) was talking about the debt ceiling debate.  He said he didn’t want to be associated with the President.  It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck. Tar baby is a racist term that I haven’t heard in years, but Mr. Lamborn thinks it’s okay to use.  Or  how about Marilyn Davenport a member of the Orange County Republican Party, and Tea Party activist, who circulated an email with the words  “Now you k now why –no birth certificate under a picture of chimpanzee’s with President Obama’s picture super imposed over the little chimp. Rush Limbaugh has so many where to start. Here is a couple. He called President Obama, Barack the Magic Negro.  To a female black caller. He said “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”  Or how about Haley Barbour the Governor of Mississippi reminiscing about segregation in the south when he was growing up.  He said things weren't so bad, of course he wasn’t black.

This is the state of the Republican Party.  These people are supposed to be leaders, but instead are fostering hate.

WISCONSIN RECALL

Wisconsin recall elections are coming up in a little more than a week.  Coincidently a fire destroyed the offices of We Are Wisconsin they are a political action committee that has been putting money into the recall elections for the democrats.  The Fire Department hasn’t said what the cause  of the fire is.  Hopefully it isn’t arson.  That would bring the bitterness in Wisconsin to a new low.  Other than the fact arson is illegal, someone could have been killed.  I hate to say this, but some of crazies involved over there don‘t see anything wrong in what they do as long as they get their way.  I want the fire department to release the cause of this fire as soon as possible to allay concerns of arson. Or as the case may be find the criminals behind the arson.

MARTHA MACCALLUM

I wonder sometimes where the people with all those crazy ideas on how things should be get their ideas.  Here is one example.  Martha MacCallum Fox News anchor was talking about all the money the government spends. Specifically about all the checks they send out each month for things like Social Security, and Veterans benefits.   Her position is that if we didn’t have to send out those checks we could “handle those things like the two wars in a much better fiscal position” Ms. MacCallum is one of those people who don’t have any qualms about sending men and women to war.  She does have a problem with supporting them afterwards if they need help.   Ms. MacCallum and her ilk are where the Tea Party and the right- wing loony’s get their information from.   Most of these kinds of people are only interested in their warped political point of view and the hell with the welfare country.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

Tea Party Representative Joe Walsh (R.IL.) is being sued for 100, 00 dollars by his ex-wife in back child support.  This is the same guy who had a foreclosure and one of his aides said all he knows how to do is spend, spend, spend; This is the guy who tries to tell President Obama to spend within our means.

Rick Santourm and Newt Gingrich are always saying we need to have more jobs in this country.  Both of them have gotten their campaign t-shirts from over foreign countries.  I guess talk is cheap.

Nothing funnier than watch Governor Rick Perry (R.TX.) back away from his own prayer seminar with all those crazy so-called men of God, now that he is planning on a run for the Presidency.

Speaking of the Presidency, can we put a fork into Michelle Bachmann’s run for the Presidency?  I think she is the biggest scam artist in the bunch.

PATHETIC

I have always operated under the premise that most politicians did what was best for the country, I know that there are always going to be people looking to line their own pockets, and put their interests ahead of the country. It seems that that in the last decade or so things have changed dramatically.  Take for example the so-called debt crisis.  This is a completely fabricated crisis.  These people are willing to put the world in to crisis.  For what?  I don’t really know.  The only thing the Republicans want is that no taxes are raised on the rich.  Pathetic.  Republicans gained power in so many states last year on the campaign plank that they were going to create jobs.  What have they done? Nothing.  All most of them have done is try to strip union rights and create all kinds of anti-abortion legislation, and make it harder to vote with these voter ID laws.  They created laws for a problem that didn’t exist.  All these things are meant to keep likely Democratic voters away from the polls.  To that end Governor Scott Walker (R-WI.) and his minions in the Legislature passed a voter ID law requiring that everyone have a valid WI. ID, Now the idea is to close up to 10 Department of Motor Vehicle Registration buildings. They are the ones who issue those ID’s.  The thing is he is closing them in mostly Democratic parts of the State.  Coincidence? I don’t think so. These people are unethical immoral and just plain disgusting.  Your country is supposed to come first.

POLITICS

Ohio voters are going to be able to vote this fall on the draconian labor law passed by the Ohio legislature and signed by the Governor . It's nice to see that the people are not going to take what is done to them by the GOP. In Wisconsin the recall elections have begun. Hopefully the Democrats can take back control of the State Senate, and next year recall that jerk of a Governor. It will be hard to rescind all the terrible things this governor and legislature have done, but you have to start somewhere. If the people in this country don’t wake up soon we will be living back in the 1800’s. The GOP doesn’t believe in education, they sure don’t believe in science. What they believe in is a distorted version of the Bible. And every weird odd-ball they can scrounge up to support any of their half-witted ideas.

ALLEN WEST

Allen West (R-FL.) recently called Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL.) “Vile, Despicable and Cowardly,” and also “she was not a lady.” What would make him say such things? All it takes to set this nut off is that she didn’t agree with him. No one should be surprised about this morons antics. After all he says he has a higher security clearance than the President. Take a look at this guy’s eyes, he has crazy eyes. He was dismissed from the military for abuse. The scary thing is he was elected in Florida. So what is West doing after that statement about Schultz, He is sending out a fund raising letter because the left is out to get him. They should have a sanity test for elected officials. The first one who would fail is this clown.

POLITICS AS USUAL

I have been on vacation for the last week. What has changed in the last week? Let’s see. The Minnesota shutdown is still in progress, even though there are signs it may be coming to an end soon. The federal government is'nt working any better. The Republicans are still acting like children. I guess that is to be expected, some of them have the intelligence of a 9 yr. old. Rick the evangelist Perry is seriously thinking of running for President. Wait to the general public looks inside this moron’s head. I guess Perry and Bachmann would make a good ticket for the Republicans. I don’t think they would win one state. These two people have been told by God to run. I guess God hasn’t made up his mind who he wants to win. My personal favorite for the GOP is Newt Gingrich, at least everyone knows he has no morals and isn’t too honest. Finally, Rupert Murdoch’s media empire seems to be imploding. He’s had to close a paper in England, and some of his top employees are being investigated over there, and the United States Government might be taking a look into his dealings. Fox news is trying to ignore it. They might actually come under some real scrutiny.

ANN COULTER

Ann coulter is a crazy bitch. No question about that. She says some of the stupidest and craziest things.
She recently called Princess Diana an anorexic bulimic narcissist. Earlier this year she called her a nitwit hussy. When U.S. Ambassador Pamela Harriman died, Coulter used the occasion to accuse her of sleeping her way to the top and basically she was a whore. She has a right to her opinion, but to say that on television on the day the Ambassador died is totally insane and tactless and just plain mean. This woman is idolized by the right wing loonies. They can justify this because they think she is good looking. If you take the time and look at her you will find the anorexic narcissist that she claims Princess Diana was.

CASEY ANTHONY

Casey Anthony was acquitted of first degree murder today. I watched part of the trial, and came to the conclusion rather quickly that she would be acquitted. I don’t know if she is guilty, but the quality of the prosecution was very poor. This reminded me so much of the OJ trial back in the 90’s. I had no doubt that he would be acquitted. It seems the prosecutors go to trial with shoddy evidence. If you listen to the commentators on television you would think that everyone is guilty. Then when the verdict is announced they act so surprised. What it boils down to is that if you are going to try someone for 1st degree murder at least have quality evidence. It would help too if the prosecutors didn’t come off as complete jerks.

MIA

A couple of Republican governors disappeared over the weekend. Rick Scott(R-FL.), Rick Perry (R-TX.) These two clowns that both have disasters going on in their states told no one that they were going or what they were going to do. There were other Governors missing in action, but I think most were up front as to where they went. This may come as a surprise to some, but they were at Koch brother’s conference in Vail Colorado, I guess when the man with the money calls you jump. The Press actually had to trace a number on a private plane owned by one of Perry’s big campaign donors to find out where he went. Perry has complained that President Obama has not paid enough attention to the fires in Texas. It seems the man in charge in Texas would at least stay around and do his job. Scott on the other hand may be more popular if he isn’t in the state. This is the most disliked Governor in the country. He has been spending his time lately trying to improve his image at home. Faking letters to the editor, and now his making robo calls telling the people of Florida what a good job he is doing.
The scary part of all of this and what has been happening since the last election is the corporate takeover of the government. These kinds of people have no regard for people, and by people I mean anyone who isn’t rich. The rest of the population is disregarded and looked upon as resource to be used and used up, and then move on.

HISTORY CHANGERS

I should be surprised, but I ‘m not. Michelle Bachmann makes some stupid comment, and now we have people trying to change Wikipedia to conform to here stupid statement. This happens, I think Sarah Palin has said stupid things and someone tries to change history to conform to her crazy outlook.
Here in Minnesota whenever Michelle Bachmann is mentioned the sycophants come out of the wood work to defend her. If you don’t know what a sycophant is the definition is a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite, or for the younger set, a brown- noser, asskisser, suck up, yes-man fanatic. These people do not know how to have a sane conversation about anything concerning her. Facts mean nothing to these people, they try and find analogies to lessen a stupid statement or just plain ignore it. If you want to see just read the letters to the editor in the St. Cloud Times in Minnesota, and read the comments. Some of these people must just sit at home and have no idea what is happening in the world the proverbial ostrich head in the sand syndrome.

MIDWEST COMMON SENSE

What has happened to the common sense people of the Midwest? We have politicians that are in power now that are completely nuts. Examples are easy to come by. Paul Ryan (R-WI.) the congressman who put forth a budget trying to take away most Medicare. He is still out there saying he is misunderstood. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN.) she is actually running for President. I don’t really have to say much about her she is well known for stupid things. Although I would like to say she is also dishonest. She is against earmarks she claims under no circumstances should the government be giving out money for special projects or things like that. Of course she has taken money from the government. One for a farm she is part owner in, and one for a business she and her husband owns. Of course she can justify things like that because she is so special and God talks to her regularly. Governor Scott Walker (R-WI.). He is well known for being in the pocket of big business along with the Governor of Michigan Rick Snyder (R-MI.), the Governor of Ohio John Kasich (R-OH.), and Mitch Daniels (R-IN.) the Governor of Indiana. We have a Supreme Court Justice in Wisconsin who is under investigation for attempting to strangle another justice. He is well known because he was involved in a recent election He is David Prosser. My question is if you or I were accused of this assault do you think we would have not been brought in and interrogated? Steve King (R-IA.) A congressman from Iowa is a climate change denier. The Midwest is being hit hard by floods. Mr. King gets up in congress and states no one could predict these huge floods. Scientists have been stating for ten years that flooding in the Midwest was getting worse. It is convenient for him to ignore these reports and claim no one knew it was coming. I will have to give him credit for asking that the region be declared a disaster area so they can get federal funds to help, flying in the face of some of his other Republicans cohorts, i.e. Mitt Romney who said it was immoral to give money for the victims, or even Eric Cantor who stated money should not be given unless we can find other places to take it from.
I know there are many other people out there like them, this is what has got me worried. The takeover of one party by the fringe elements of our society who believe in everything conspiratorial.

MITCH MCCONNELL

As long as I can remember, anytime we went to war or even a military intervention the government spoke as one. I know there were always a couple of people in office who would disagree, but they disagreed on principle. I very seldom agree with us going to war, or at least what we call war today. I have no problem with people disagreeing with war if they have a good reason. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) the senate minority leader said he would be more for a war if his party was the one taking us to war. Senator McConnell is morally bankrupt and ethically challenged. You believe in the reason for war or you don’t, political considerations should not be taken into account. The thing is he is not alone; there are people in both parties who would do this. The difference is that he was actually stupid enough to say it out loud.

MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE

At the end of June the Minnesota State government is going to run out of money. Well not really. The Governor and the Legislature are at an impasse on how to proceed. The Governor wants to raise taxes on the richest two percent. The legislature wants to cut spending. The two bodies aren’t able to come together for the benefit of the people in the state. However the Republicans legislature has it all figured out. They plan to keep getting paid while they put thousands of people out of work, great bunch of people. Whether you agree with either of these competing agendas the idea of government is to serve the people, all the people to the best of your ability. Not to serve a political agenda, disregarding the people. To give you an idea of how the Republicans think. I was at the State Capitol earlier this year. In a meeting with one of the state legislatures the topic of jobs came up. She stated that government jobs are really not real jobs. There is no way to reason with someone like that. For the sake of the people the public employees (the state legislators) have to get over their goofy and sometimes mean spirited ways, and do what is right for the whole state.

RICK SCOTT

Rick Scott (R) is the Governor of Florida. Most of his constituents think he is doing a very poor job 57%. The Governor has had a great idea. He wrote a letter on his web site. He wants the people who like him 29% to sign their name to his letter and then they will send it to the newspapers as a show of support for him. This guy is really something. He believes by a phony letter written by his staff, it will show that he is doing a wonderful job and people like him. All it does is show that he is a small petty individual who thinks this will keep him in office.

SANTORUM

Rick Santorum is such a slime ball I really can’t figure out why anyone takes him seriously. So the hypocrite is against abortion for any reason. He believes a Doctor who performs an abortion should be jailed. Guess what? This slime ball and his wife had an abortion. Now it was for a good reason. His wives life was at stake. My question is, doesn’t he think this same dilemma happens all the time. I suppose he thinks that he is special and the rest of the people need to be led around by the morally superior people like himself.

THE MEDIA

I heard today that Anthony Weiner (D.NY.) is resigning today because of his penchant for sending racy pictures on twitter. Who cares? The media does, that is all I have been hearing or reading. Other than the double standard that seems to be in effect in the media about whose sex scandal deserves major play. Why are they focusing on this story in the wake of all the other things going on?
You have an all-out attack on the middle class going on in this country. We have corporations running just about everything. The Republicans are in the pocket of these corporations, and the media ignores it. We have Glenn Beck pointing at a picture of President Obama and asking why do you need a gun. This is crazy. I have heard the defense of Mr. Beck. He is just crazy like a fox. He really means that the Democrats want to take away your guns. I have challenged people to show me the evidence on that. Of course I have never had any shown to me.
You have a major government shut down looming, you have people in congress trying to roll back regulations for the environment, tobacco, child labor laws, and just about anything they can think of to support their corporate bosses. The scary part is that a lot of people in this country are buying into this stuff. There was an article a few weeks ago about letting the Republicans have what they want the list was amazing. This is the article.

All the issues that are the core of their conservative beliefs into reality, and make them the law of the land. Let conservatives who "want My America back" have it. And finally the nation will get to see the reality of Ronald Reagan's "Shining City on the Hill ™."
Give the Republican Party everything it wants.
Everything. Absolutely, completely, totally everything. No hedging. No compromising. The whole package. A true, conservative, Republican vision.

No cherry-picking only the issues you like. That's the conservative agenda. That's their Shining City on the Hill ™.
That's your America.
The Republican Party's American Dream.
Consider it.
This isn't about single issues. This is about who the Republican Party is.
The Republican Party has long been able to flimflam the American public to vote against its self-interest because Democrats have always blocked enough of the GOP's worst far-right instincts. But if you want to see who the Republican Party truly is, then give them all of this, give them everything they want. In four years, the nation will feel so demeaned, the GOP will cease to exist.
And if Republicans try to flim-flam you by saying the same about Democrats, remember the truth: when Franklin Roosevelt had everything his way, the American public elected him four times.
Be careful what you wish for, you might get it.
