WAR ON EASTER?

My favorite two people and organizations are at it again. Sean Hannity of Fox News, and Bill Donahue of the Catholic League. They have decided that there is a war on Easter. Fox is the same organization that started the war on Christmas campaign. What evidence is there? Good Question. They have none that makes any sense. The thing again that bothers me is why does anyone pay attention to these two goofs?

PAUL RYAN

Paul Ryan the (R-WI) Congressman extraordinaire at least in some of the Medias and his own mind held a town hall meeting in his congressional district. Much to his surprise I would guess, he was booed for his support of Medicare cuts and cutting the taxes on the rich. These were his constituents. The people do understand what he is trying to do, screw the middle class. No matter how they try and justify it, it always boils down to the same thing. Give the businesses and the rich more money and take away from the rest. I know many people adhere to the Ayn Rand mentality, but all that does is cause class warfare. In the end that is going to be the downfall of this country.

BASEBALL AND FATHERHOOD

Colby Lewis is a pitcher for the Texas Rangers. His wife was having a baby. He wanted to be there like any normal father would. He took the time and went to be with his wife. In the process he missed his normal turn in the rotation. A reporter for the Dallas Observer took him to task; he couldn’t understand how a player would choose to be with his wife when she gave birth instead of pitching.

This is the mentality that seems to be taking hold in this country. In this case how dare he put himself ahead of my enjoyment?

JOHN KYL

Sen. John Kyl a Republican from Arizona stood in the well in the Senate of the United States and stated the 90% of Planned Parenthoods time and money was spent on abortions. The truth is it is 3%. When Sen. Kyl was confronted with the truth, his staff said the statement wasn't meant to be factual. I guess in his mind it is okay to stand up before your collegues and the country and lie just to make a political point.

The thing that bothers me the most is that the people who vote for him or his followers are apolgists for these kind of things. This country is not going to get anything done until these kind of people are tossed out on their ear, and we get people who put the country first.

THE CATHOLIC LEAGUE

Catholic League president Bill Donahue took out a full page ad in the New York Times. He tries to justify the way things are in regard to the abuse problems by Priests. He states that most of the incidents were homosexual. That means the church doesn’t really have a pedophile problem, and since most of those cases involved kids that were a little older there really isn’t a problem. What this fool doesn’t understand that abuse is abuse.

The Catholic Church could do without apologists like this.

THE FAMILY

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Ok) Pat Robertson and Glen Beck are defending the person who lost the Presidency in the Ivory Coast last year. This man refuses to leave. Sen. Inhofe claims the election was rigged. The defeated former President is hiding in a bunker at this time. He and his forces have been accused of war crimes. But so has the elected Presidents forces in this bloody conflict. Why is Sen. Inhofe defending this man who lost the election? I hate to say it but religion rears its ugly head again. The Fellowship, also called The Family is a Christian right wing organization that has ties with the loser of the election. This is the organization that Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC), Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) and Rep. Chip Pickering (R-MS) belong to. What do these guys have in common? They all were caught cheating on their wives recently. This organization also has ties to Uganda, and a bill there that would allow the government legally to kill homosexuals.

Why is it that when you belong to an organization like The Family it is okay to do anything you want and never suffer the consequences amongst your peers? Is it that the so called religious people can’t see their own flaws, but sure can tell you about yours?

SEAN DUFFY

Who is Sean Duffy you ask? He is the Republican Congressman from the 7th district in WI. The poor man is suffering. He is complaining about making a paltry $174,000 a year. For him to say something like that at a town hall meeting in one of the more depressed areas of WI. is idiotic. This guy is not in touch with the reality of his constituents.

Of course he has a couple of homes. I suppose if he is suffering he could sell one of them.
